GARLAND
Mrs. Maxine Parker Cain, 80 of Garland, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Goldsboro Assisted Living in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 2 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Reaves and Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Clinton.
Mrs. Cain was born in 1928 in Bladen County to the late George Dewey and Mary Susan Evans Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Dalton Parker and Arthur Cain, and a step daughter, Faye Parker Cain. She worked at Clinton Sewing Company before retiring.
Mrs. Cain is survived by: two sons, Dewey Parker and wife Lynn, of Hammond, LA, and Alvin Parker and wife Terry, of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Roberta Parker of Roseboro, Gracie Miller of Kansas City, and Amy Parker of Charlotte; and four great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, and other times at the home of her granddaughter, 711 N. Broad Street, in Roseboro.
The family requests no flowers and that memorials be made to Windsor United Methodist Church Building Fund.
