Mr. Max Glenwood Howard, 81

AUTRYVILLE Mr. Max Glenwood Howard, 81, of 1508 Howard Road, Autryville, died May 24, 2012 at Harnett Woods Nursing Center in Dunn. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Allen West, Rev. Randy Barber and Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Howard was born on September 5, 1930 in Sampson County to the late Robert C. Howard and Melvina Williams Howard. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ray Howard. Mr. Howard was a farmer and he was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He is survived by: his wife, Edna Howard, one daughter, Carolyn H. Herring and husband, Jeff of Newton Grove, one son, Ronnie G. Howard and wife, Carol of Autryville, two sisters, Lillian Peterson of Stedman and Elsie Haywood of Fayetteville, three grandchildren, April Phillips, Jeremy Strickland, and Ana Howard, three great grandchildren, Maggie and Maelyn Phillips and Ayden Strickland. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Union Grove Baptist Church. Services entrusted by Butler Funeral Home, 401 W Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
