Mrs. Mary Catherine Tanner, 89 of Autryville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Calton Tanner Cemetery, 1355 Horseshoe Road, Autryville, NC 28318, with Chaplin Stephen Keefecker officiating. The family will greet friends at her home, 1351 Horseshoe Road, Autryville, NC 28318, the night before the service.

Mrs. Tanner was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Martin Tanner and Anner Faircloth Tanner. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Tanner; two brothers, Albert Tanner and James Tanner; and three sisters, Beulah Sessoms, Lizzie Cashwell, and Kate Sessoms.

She is survived by six children, Patricia Strickland and husband Tommy, Cathy Martin, Louise Gibbons, Frances Faircloth and husband John, Robert Tanner, and Travis Tanner; five grandchildren, Scotty Strickland, Clif Faircloth, Andy Martin, Jamie Gibbons, and Nichole Schoonmaker; and 16 great grandchildren, Kiyah, Sam, Payton, Chason, EllaJoe, Giavanna, Seth, Layla, Blake, Emilya, Kylie, Raelee, Adley, Lairyn, Hayden, and Jayden.
