ROSEBORO Ms. Mary Alice Strickland, 55 of Roseboro, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Whispering Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Praise Fellowship Church of God with Rev. Richard Williford and Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg. Ms. Strickland was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of the late W. M. and Mary E. Bordeaux Strickland. She was a recreation therapist. She is survived by: two sisters, Elizabeth A. Harper of Salemburg and Carol Russell of Lillington; one brother, W. M. Strickland of Carolina Beach. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 12:45 PM on Wednesday at Praise Fellowship Church of God, Fayetteville.
