ROSEBORO
Mrs. Mary J. Spell, 63 of 1179 Butler Island Road, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
Funeral services will be held at Roseboro United Methodist Church on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Bobby Herring officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Mrs. Spell was born in 1945 in Duplin County to the late David Currie and Clara Ollie Culbreth Jessup. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford D. Spell. She retired from the Luggage Claims Department with Trailways.
Mrs. Spell is survived by: two sons, Roger Jessup and wife Rhonda, of Turkey, and Tommy Elliott and wife Amy, of Roseboro; three step-children, Rochelle Spell, of Fayetteville, Danny Spell and wife Becky, of Parkton, and Valerie Spell, of Hope Mills; three grandchildren, Kaleb Jessup, Kolby Jessup, and Benjamin Elliott; seven step-grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Hobbs, of Roseboro, and Elizabeth Hall, of Stedman; and two brothers, James Jessup and John Jessup, both of Roseboro.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro.
