Mary Ann (Simmons) Fann, 79, of Wallace, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 19, 2026 in Sophia, NC.

No services will be held at this time.

Mary was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Junice Simmons and Eunice Nance Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life for 25 years, Jimmy Bishop; a son, Robert Taylor; three brothers; and four sisters.

If there are yard sales in heaven, there is no doubt she will be pulling Jimmy along, eager to see what marvelous treasures they can discover together.

She is survived by four children, Denise Strickland and Husband David of Trinity, Penny Gum of Sophia, Tammy Dempsey and husband Edward of Archdale, and Brian Hughes of Wildersville, TN; a brother, James Simmons of Roseboro; a sister, Faye Ezzell of Texas; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
