Mrs. Mary Alice Nunnery Spell, 66

AUTRYVILLE Mrs. Mary Alice Nunnery Spell, 66 of 7564 Concord Church Road, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Rambeau and Rev. Frank Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Spell was born on May 15, 1944 in Cumberland County to the late Charlie and Pauline Cooper Nunnery. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 37 years, and also a business partner with Spell Sanitation. She worked as a Service Person in Manufacturing with MJ Soffee. She is survived by: her husband, Nixon Spell, Sr. of the home; one son, Nixon "Nicky" Spell, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Autryville; one daughter, Sue Spell Jacobs and husband, Myron of Autryville; one sister, Cleta Tyner of Stedman; two brothers, Alfred Nunnery and A.B. Nunnery both of Autryville; and two grandchildren, Sarah Spell and Kody Spell. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman, and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Concord Baptist Church, Children's Play Ground, PO Box 427, Stedman, NC 28391.
