Mrs. Mary Claris Morris, 87

STEDMAN

Mrs. Mary Claris Morris, 87 of 6726 Oak Grove Church Road, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at her home.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, May 19, at Oak Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend David Taylor, and Reverend Elbert and Juanita Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

She was born in Cumberland County to the late John David Smith and Mittie Addie McAlpin Smith. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Halloway; and brothers, Clarence, James and Paul Smith.

She was also a member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church since she was 10 years old.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, J.P. Morris, Jr. of the home; children, Charles Morris, and David Morris and wife Margie all of Stedman; grandchildren, Dawn Vinson, Shelly Pruitt, Melissa Fox, and Chris Holloway; and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 pm Friday prior to the service and other times at the home.
