Mary Elizabeth (Groves) Pineda

Mary Elizabeth (Groves) Pineda, 95 went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2022 at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC with her daughter by her side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Macedonia Holiness Church (207 Indian Dr., Fayetteville), officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Johnson and Rev. Jerry Groves.  Burial will follow at Cape Fear Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM Wednesday at the church before the service.

Pallbearers will be SGT Aaron Taylor, Bailey Groves, Charles Robert Nunnery, III, Chad Groves, Bell Groves, Jr. and Tracy Bain.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Walsh, Robby Goodman and Ken Groves.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Beatrice Groves; husband, Raymond Pineda; son, Kenneth Damone Pineda; brothers, Charles, William and Larry “Buddy” Groves; and sisters, Iula Groves, Odell Goodman, Lucy Wood, Beatrice VanDam and Frankie Lopez.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who will be truly missed by all who knew her.  Mary had a strong impact on her siblings, nieces and nephews, she contributed to the wonderful people that they have become.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Jeanne P. Taylor (Derek); grandchildren, SGT Aaron G. Taylor (Sam), Ashley Marie Taylor, Bailey Groves, Jessica  McNamee and Richard Taylor; great grandchildren, Noah Isiah Groves, Lilly, Zeb, Max and Lyric; 2 great grandchildren on the way; brother, Bell Groves (Linda); sisters, Alice Bain and Ruth Nunnery (Charles); former son-in-law and friend, Robert G. Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
