Mary Anna Cooper Bryan
09/09/1917-06/27/2009
Mrs. Bryan passed away peacefully Saturday, June 27th after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, William Thomas Bryan, of Roseboro, NC, her mother and father, John Carr and Juanita Cooper of Salemburg, NC and two brothers, George Bradley Cooper and J.W. Cooper.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Ann and Fred Butler of Wilmington, NC, Mary Linda and Dick Ramsey of Winston-Salem, NC and Sara Gwynn and Doug Brackett of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Freddie and Catherine Butler III, Kim Moye, Sara and David Honeycutt, Bryan and Barret Butler, Sara Ashley and Keith Sykes, Whitney and Caroline Brackett, and Blair, Anna and Brad Ramsey; and nine Great Grandchildren. In addition, Mrs. Bryan leaves behind three sisters, Elizabeth Wade of Raleigh, NC, Ruth Honeycutt of Salemburg, NC, and Macy Cooper of Maryland, and a very special friend, Barbara Egan of Maryland.
Mrs. Bryan will be remembered most as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and their well-being was always her top priority. She was a beautiful lady with a feisty spirit. She was the center of her loving family. Her nine grandchildren thought she was "The Greatest", and she made each of them feel the same. She took great pride in always looking her best. She was as sharp at almost ninety-two years as she ever was. Her three daughters marveled at how she could run circles around them, giving orders, three at a time. She was a super bridge player, a great dancer, and enjoyed golf later in life. She was well known as the best cook - and the fastest!
Mrs. Bryan's family would like to thank all of her friends at the Kempton where she spent the last 4 years. We are especially indebted to her angels, Sherry, Missy and Karen, who were lovingly devoted to her, spoiling her completely-which she expected!
Mrs. Bryan was a role model of dignity, honesty, frugality, and the pioneer ingenuity. She gave us a wonderful example to live by, living life to the fullest and treasuring time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Roseboro United Methodist Church, Broad Street, Roseboro, NC, June 29, 2009, at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roseboro United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Roseboro, NC 28382.
