Mrs. Mary Alice Williams, 96 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Bethesda Health Care Facility.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Center Baptist Church in Wade with Rev. Lutrell Spell and Rev. Tim McQueen officiating.  Burial will follow in the Minson Williams Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.

Mrs. Williams was a native of Harnett County, the daughter of John and Mary West Black.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman Elwood Williams; son, Elwood Williams and daughter, Mary Erma Williams.  She was a homemaker and a member of Center Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Murphy and husband, David of Wade; daughter-in-law, Betsy Williams of Dunn; Special daughter, Kathy Hayes and husband, Robert of Wilmington; grandsons, Jody Murphy (Mary Anne) of Wade and Steven Hayes of Wilmington; granddaughter, Meredith Williams (Brian) of Stedman; great grandchildren, Jordan Murphy (Carlton Hutchins), Brendan Murphy (Liz Reffner), Lakin Williams, Lainey Williams, D. J. Walker, Jr., Eli Walker, Carson Hayes and Olivia Hayes; great great granddaughter, Lilee Hutchins; sister-in-law, Helen Williams of Wade and many nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Maria Rodriquez.
