Mr. Martin Vernon Autry, 76

STEDMAN Mr. Martin Vernon Autry, 76 of 1690 Bainbridge Road, died on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Magnolia Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Autry-McAlpin Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Autry was born on July 21, 1936 in Cumberland County to the late Lenzy and Flora Maness Autry. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Annie West. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from Western Union and South River Electric. He is survived by: his wife, Lyndia Autry of the home; two daughters, Dianne Carter and husband Bobby of Stedman and Laurie Williams of Fayetteville; two sons, Raymond Autry and wife, Carla of Godwin and Miles Autry and wife, Patrice of Fayetteville; two brothers, Lenzy M. Autry and Gerald Autry both of Stedman; one sister, Joyce Autry of Stedman; five grandchildren, Ryan Thomas and wife Stacey of Charlotte, Matthew Corey Thomas of Fayetteville, Hannah Walker and husband, Travis of Stedman, Cassie Jackson and husband, Eric of Godwin and Aslyn Autry of Fayetteville; and one great grandchild, Channing Jackson of Godwin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home.
