Mr. Marion Kurshaw Hayes, 88

AUTRYVILLE

Mr. Marion Kurshaw Hayes, 88 of 221 Williams Street, Autryville, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Tower Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. Burial will follow at the Autryville Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Hayes was born on May 22, 1927 in Johnston County to the late Ruford B. and Leona Strickland Hayes. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura Christine Hayes; son, Ruthford Allen Hayes; and daughter, Laura Ann Hayes.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and worked as a delivery driver with Merita Bread Company.

He is survived by one son, Harold Dixon Hayes of Autryville; daughter, Marion Hayes Cortez of California; three sisters, Joyce Keene, Mary Bowen and Doris Bartlett; three grandchildren, Melissa Yamamoto, Aimee Saunders and Stephanie Averitt; four great grandchildren, Penelope Hoch, Gabriel Hoch, Maddy Peterson and Laura Grace Saunders.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
