PARKTON
Mr. Marion Wayne Hales, 69, of 2543 Barlow Road, Parkton, formerly of Roseboro, died October 22, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Shook and Dr. Chris Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hales was born on August 24, 1943 in Cumberland County to the late Marion McKinnis and Eula Mae Hales Hales. He is preceded in death by: his parents; and one sister, Judy Hales Williams. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and had a passion for farming and carpentry. He retired as a truck driver with Burlington Industries after 46 years.
He is survived by: one daughter, Cynthia Hales Herndon and husband, Michael of Parkton; one son, Christopher Wayne Hales and companion, Charlotte Tanner of Roseboro; three brothers, Brent Hales and wife, Ann of Roseboro, Stephen Hales and wife, Grace and Timothy Hales and wife, Cecilia all of Fayetteville; two sisters, Audrey Horne of Fayetteville and Gloria Reynolds and husband, Robert of Florence, S.C.; five grandchildren, Nicholas Hales and wife, Bethany, Mackinley Hales, Jason Herndon and wife, Kim, Jennifer Herndon Oxedine and husband, Joseph and Benjamin Herndon; and one great grandson, Hunter Herndon.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
