STEDMAN Mrs. Margie Alene Matthews, 73 of 343 John Nunnery Road, died on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 2:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Coulliard and Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Sandy-Horne cemetery in Autryville. Mrs. Matthews was born on January 5, 1937 in Sampson County to the late Ernest and Annie Florence Sessoms Burr. She worked as a Sewing Factory Seamstress. Mrs. Matthews is survived by: one son, Michael Matthews and wife, Peggy of Lumber Bridge; one daughter, Sheila Harris of Stedman; four sisters, Lucille Faircloth of Stedman, Patty Hurst and Virginia Burr both of Stedman, and Macey Burr of South Carolina; two brothers, Carl Burr of Hope Mills, and Allen Burr of South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Starling of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren, Nathaniel Harris, Anna Harris, and Ashley Cook. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
