Margery Gladys Day, 73

Mrs. Margery Gladys Day, 73 of Roseboro, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The funeral will be held at 7:00pm Friday, December 22, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman, with Pastor Tim Gore officiating.

She was born June 1, 1944 in Boston, MA. Her younger years she lived in Alaska. Then she was raised in the Hope Mills area by Grover Cleveland Batton, her adopted family. She lived in New Jersey before moving back to Hope Mills around 1989. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Claire Bollinger, Joseph William Carioti, Jr., and Rev. Norman Edward Day, Jr. She retired as a cafeteria worker with the Cumberland County School System. She was a member of Sapona Road Church of God.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the best mother a child could ask for, and she was the world to her family.

She is survived by four children, Sharon Colombo of Florida, Karri Marie Carioti of New Jersey, Donna Lyn Carioti of Roseboro, Joseph William Carioti, III of New Jersey; two step children, Debra Pearl Runo and husband Henry of New Jersey, Norman E. Day, III and wife Yuka of New York; one adopted son, Eric Morgan of Wilmington; and seven grandchildren, Cassandra Peterson, Angelina O'Connor, Aldo Colombo, Tim Runo, Melissa Runo, Lindsay Day, Mackenzie Day.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45pm Friday, December 22, prior to the service.
