Mrs. Margaret Elaine (Strickland) Butler, 82 of Salemburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Zoar Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Adam Capps, Reverend J.D. Tew and Reverend Kelvin Blackman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Zoar Church Multi-purpose Building.

Mrs. Butler was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of John Davis Strickland, Jr. and Katie Dell Holland Strickland. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Faye Tew.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Harold Butler of the home; two sons, Lamar Butler and wife, DeShannon of Salemburg; and Jonathan Butler and wife, Jamie of Salemburg; four grandchildren, Storm Stevens and wife, Claire; Quinton Butler, Emma Kate Butler and Trevar Tex Butler; and her great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105; and The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St, Oxford, NC 27565.
