Mallie Jean (Bass) Knowles Carlyle

Mrs. Mallie Jean Knowles Carlyle, age 90 of Greensboro, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, September 9, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with Reverend Andy Wood and Reverend Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

She was born January 17, 1928 in Sampson County and was the daughter of Baddie and Lina McLamb Bass. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Mixton Knowles; second husband, Archie Carlyle; daughter, Betty Jean Knowles; and sons, Larry Knowles, Donald Knowles. She worked as an Inspector with Sampson Sewing Factory.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Knowles Draughon of Greensboro; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Warren of Fayetteville, Lee Rowland of Wilmington, Myrtle Wirfs of Snow Camp, OR.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50pm Sunday prior to the service.
