Mrs. Madie Leah (Russ) Core, 92 of Rolesville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at UNC Rex Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating.

Mrs. Core was a native of Brunswick County, the daughter of Melvin Roscoe and Evelyn Simmons Russ. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Norman Arthur Core, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Doug Core, Ken Core and Wanda Varnedoe; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Faye Jones.
