Mrs. Mable Ester Smith Horne, 74

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Mabel Ester Smith Horne, 74 of 2120 L.A. Dunham Road, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Judson Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Horne was born on December 15, 1938 in Bladen County to the late Claude and Gladys Jones Smith. She retired from the retail department at the V.A. Medical Center in Fayetteville. She is survived by: her husband, Lathan Horne of Fayetteville; one son, David Alan Horne and wife Kim of Fayetteville; one daughter, Lisa Buffaloe and husband Alan of Eastover; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Hannah, Dylan, Noah, Elizabeth, Rachel and Gracey; one great granddaughter, Braelie; one brother, Albin Smith of White Oak; and five sisters, Geraldine Linkous of Fayetteville, Jannie West of Lumberton, Katie Smith and Juanita Dawson both of Ammon and Ernestine Davis of Baytree Lake. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home.
