Mrs. Mable "Louise" Mclaurin Strickland

HICKORY Mrs. Mable "Louise" McLaurin Strickland, 87, of Hickory, died Friday, February, 15, 2008 in Frye Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Stedman. Mrs. Strickland was born August 18, 1920, in Cumberland County to the late Burnice and Janie Hall McLaurin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Elwood and Clara McLaurin, and John W. and Peggy McLaurin, and a brother-in-law, Charles Chaney. A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Tuesday, February 19, 2008, in Magnolia Baptist Church in Stedman with the Rev. Dr. Robert Phipps and the Rev. John Barbee officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband, Alton P. Strickland of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Butch DeBoever of Bethlehem; grandsons, Sky DeBoever of Shelby and Len DeBoever of Mercer University in Macon, Ga.; sister, Catherine M. Chaney of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M., Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to: Hemophilia Foundation, P.O.
