FAYETTEVILLE Mr. Luther Eldon "Cool-Hand Luke" Morgan, 66 of Fayetteville died on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at Northwood Temple with the Rev. John Hedgepeth officiating. Burial will follow in the Lafayette Memorial Park. Mr. Morgan was a native of Duplin County, the son of the late Elden and Essie Mae Herring Morgan. He was a truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Kathy I. Morgan of the home; a son, James "Luke" Morgan of Fayetteville; a brother, Elbert Morgan of Hope Mills; two sisters, Jean Greenwood of Fayetteville and Katherine Andrews of Stedman; two grandchildren, Brantley Morgan and Cheyenne Morgan both of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday at Northwood Temple with the Rev. John Hedgepeth officiating.
