Mrs. Lucille Godwin Hinson, 88

SALEMBURG Mrs. Lucille Godwin Hinson, 88 of Salemburg, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center. A home-going celebration will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Freedom Baptist Church, 2099 Tyndall Bridge Road, Salemburg, with Reverend Paul Honeycutt and Reverend Bryan Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Faison. She was born on July 11, 1927 in Johnston County and is preceded in death by her parents, James Ira and Lou Esther Lee Godwin; husband, John Roland Hinson; daughter-in-law, Elaine Hinson; and brothers, Earthy Godwin, and Charles Howard Godwin. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy H. Crumpler and husband Ronald of Salemburg; sons, J.R. Hinson and wife Carolyn of Fuquay-Varina, and Earl Hinson of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Lisa Smith and husband Dewayne, Kevin Hinson, Bryan Hinson and wife Nicole, Jeffrey Hinson and wife Michelle, Wesley Hinson and wife Pam, and Amy Hinson; great grandchildren, Adam Capps, Jordan Smith, Ryan Hinson, Carson Hinson, Kinsley Hinson, Austin Hinson, Garrett Hinson, Zach Hinson, and Allie Hinson; and sisters, Mary Cannady of Clinton, Veloria Tew of Clinton, and Gloria Bell Boone of Goldsboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church, Salemburg, and other times at the home of her daughter, 3631 N. Salemburg Highway, Salemburg.
