Mrs. Louise Freeman Council, 92 of White Oak, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Council was a homemaker, teacher, guidance counselor, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Council was born April 8, 1923, at home in Town Creek in Brunswick County, NC, to the late William James and Roberta Maness Freeman.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Sloan Council; daughter, Annette Samura; four brothers, Bill, Charles, Leonard, and Charles Freeman; three sisters, Minnie Register, Ann Finch, and Alberta Barbee.
She is survived by: son, George Sloan Council, Jr. and wife Pattie, their sons, Frank and Alexander and wife Annie, their son Max; son, William McAllister "Mac" Council and wife Shelia, their daughter, Shelia Marie Council Russ and husband Aaron, their children, Allister and Gaston; son, Charles Colvin Council, II, and wife Lenora, his son, Tripp; daughter, Suzanne Freeman Council and husband Charlie, her daughter Suzette and husband John, their children Sloan and Bennett, her son Robert Beatty Edge, his children, Beatty and Autumn, her daughter, Alexandra Council-Troche, her son, McAlister Council-Trouche; and one sister, Dot Tracy.
The visitation will be held from 2:00 to 2:45 pm Sunday, January 31, 2016, in the Fellowship Hall of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, White Oak. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Church Sanctuary with Reverend Maurice Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
