Lonnie Earl McLaurin, 71 went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 04, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Joseph Ammons.  Burial will follow at TJ Hall Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Lonnie was born in Sampson County to the late, George and Magdlean Hall McLaurin.  In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his son, Donnie Earl McLaurin; and his sisters, Betty Starling and Theresa Jones.

Lonnie retired from Good Year Tire Company with over 32 years of service.  He loved fishing, hunting, going to the beach, doing yardwork, and he especially loved going to church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Irene McLaurin; children, Laura Valerio (Todd) and Tracie McLaurin; step children, Luther Hewett, Tracy Hewett and David Carter; brothers, George Arthur McLaurin (Sharon) and John Franklin McLaurin (Beth Ann);  his sisters, Shearin Edwards, Bonnie Packer, and Tammy Ammons (Joseph); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
