Lois Alice Hudson Wright, 94, formerly of Roseboro, died Wednesday December 13, 2017. A funeral service will be held on December 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 701 Mill Creek Church Road, Roseboro, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Wright was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Sampson County, North Carolina on October 15, 1923 to James Wade Hudson and wife, Betty Gordon Goodrich Hudson. Mrs. Wright, as a Pastor’s wife served churches alongside her husband, Reverend Dennis T. Wright in Cabarrus, Cumberland, Jones, and Sampson Counties, always involving herself in the Women’s Missionary Union, Girl’s Auxiliary and Children’s Missions programs, as well as Vacation Bible School. She was a woman of great faith and hard work, both traits which she instilled in all nine of her children.

Mrs. Wright is survived by three daughters, Patricia Wright Stacy and husband, David Glenn Stacy of Gaffney, South Carolina, Betty Mae Wright Strickland and husband, Shane Strickland of Pine Level, North Carolina, and Elaine Wright Newton and husband, Richard Newton of Raleigh, North Carolina; four sons, Roger B. Wright and wife, Jane Turner Wright of Harrells, North Carolina, Terry Dennis Wright and wife, Sylvia Vinson Wright of Wilmington, North Carolina, Benjamin Lee Wright and wife, Tonya Jones Wright of Clinton, North Carolina, and Herman Joseph Wright and wife, Mary Allen Wright of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Hudson Sullivan of Castle Hayne, North Carolina; and a brother, Jimmy Hudson and wife, Jeannie of Clarkton, North Carolina.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dennis T. Wright; her son, Wendell Wade Wright; and daughter, Judy Carol Wright Yates; her sister, Ruby Hudson Witherington; and brothers, J.W. Hudson, and Jerry Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dennis T. and Lois Hudson Wright Scholarship at Campbell University, P.O. Box 116, Buies Creek, NC 27506.
