Mrs. Lillie Beatrice (Patrick) Carter, 80 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church in Tar Heel, 707 Old Hwy 41 Bladenboro, NC 28320, with the Reverend Warren Hill and Reverend Donald Keith Carter officiating. The burial will take place at 3:00 PM at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery in Wallace.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Carter was a native of Columbus County, the daughter of Luther Earl Patrick, Sr. and Mamie Webb Patrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Eileen Spaulding; and her loving husband of 40 years, Gerald Lee Carter.

She was a beautiful woman, faithful Christian, caregiver to so many throughout her life, she knew how to make everyone laugh and feel loved. She survived breast cancer 40 years ago, and went on to volunteer many years with the American Cancer Society. She was an active member of Damascus Road Church in Leland and sang in the choir for many years. Later, she became a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Tar Heel. To know her is to love her.

She leaves to cherish her memory  her husband, Carl King of the home; two sons, Wayne Carter and wife Angela of Leland; and Nick Carter and wife, Shannan of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Joshua, Aaryn, Arynn, Lillian and Roman; two great-grandchildren, Mya and Melanie; two step-sons, Andy King and wife, Ondra; and Alan King and wife, Joy; her step-daughter, Wendy Leonardo and husband, Jason; two brothers, Luther “Doc” Patrick, Jr. and wife, Delphie; and Clyde Ray Patrick; three sisters, Burma Patrick, Carolyn Yvonne Ketchem and husband, Bob; and Jane Jackson and husband, Herman; and many other beloved family and friends.
