Mrs. Lillian Watson Melvin, 85 of 1220 White Lake Drive died on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the High Point Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Lisbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Wade McLamb and Rev. J. W. Melvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshburn Cemetery.

She was a native of Columbus County, the daughter of the late Peter Emanuel and Lula Golden Watson. She was the widow of the late Hubert Graden Melvin. She was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas Melvin. She was the owner and operator of the Tar Heel Cottages at White Lake, NC

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Melvin Blair and husband, W. Edward Blair of Trinity, NC; one son, Donald G. Melvin and wife, Helen of White Lake; two sisters, Corenia Wood of White Oak and Peggy Atkinson of White Lake; five grandchildren, D. G. Melvin, John Melvin, Heather Blair-Khan, Dawn Melvin Ramsden and Caroline Blair; seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lisbon Baptist Church Building Fund, 4588 Lisbon Road, Clarkton, NC 28433.
