Lila Horne Autry

Mrs. Lila Autry, 86, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed to her heavenly home Wednesday, January 15, 2025. The daughter of the late Joel and Katie Horne of Autryville, Lila was born December 25, 1938, in Sampson Co. A graduate of Clement high school, Mrs. Autry worked at Carolina telephone and Sprint for over 30 years. An ardent member of Fayetteville Community Church, she attended ladies Bible studies and loved listening to inspirational gospel music and attending Southern gospel concerts with her son, Richard.

After retirement, she spent many wonderful years traveling with her spouse Brewer and Richard to North Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. Known for her talents in the kitchen, Mrs. Autry blessed many with her twenty-two thin layered chocolate cakes, poundcakes, banana pudding, homemade biscuits, fried apple pies. Her wonderful baked goods were  always in high demand. Her greatest loves were her late husband, Brewer and their three sons Richard, Michael, and Sean. She never missed an opportunity to tell everyone how proud she was of all their boys and the love she carried for them.

Mrs. Autry is survived by her children, Richard, Michael and wife, Deborah, grandson Kristopher, Sean, and girlfriend Lindsay. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Brewer, her brother Eugene, sisters Ada and Betty, her daughter-in-law Tiffany, and her precious little puppy Lexi as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Fayetteville Community Church with Pastor Wesley Pritchard officiating. The burial will follow at the George Horne Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the church prior to the service.
