Mr. Lewis Bascom Russ, 87 of Fayetteville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev. Richard Priest officiating.  Burial will follow in the Windsor House of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro prior to the service.

Mr. Russ was a native of Bladen County, the son of Bascom Jessie and Sudie Mae Bordeaux Russ.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Guyton and two brothers, Hurley Russ and Larry Russ.  He was a painter and a wallpaper hanger.

He is survived by his wife, Helma Jean Baker Russ of the home; a daughter, Sue Russ Cole and husband, Randal of Fayetteville; grandson, Russ Cole and Fayetteville; four sisters, Muriel Priest and husband, Larry, Edna Lou Russ, Mildred Priest and husband, Ricky and Alice Smith; one brother, Walter Russ and wife, Lucille; and numerous nieces and nephews.
