Mr. Lester Tanner, 86

ROSEBORO Mr. Lester Tanner, 86 of 1581 Autry Highway, Roseboro, died on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Southwood Nursing & Retirement Center in Clinton. The funeral will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at the Haney Cemetery in Roseboro. Mr. Tanner was born on December 14, 1927 in Sampson County to the late Shird and Mattie Lucas Tanner. He retired from Ideal Brick Company in Fayetteville where he worked as a machine operator. He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Zelda Mae Tanner of the home; one son, Robert Tanner of Roseboro; three daughters, Vivian Haney of Roseboro, Dian Autry and husband, Jerry of Roseboro and Silvia Steinmiller and husband, Bill of New Castle, PA; one brother, Odell Tanner of Roseboro; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and other times at the home. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
