Mrs. Leona Matthews Vinson, 89

Mrs. Leona Matthews Vinson, 89 of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Autumn Wind Nursing Home in Roseboro.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 24 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with the Rev. Kelly Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park.

Mrs. Vinson was born on January 23, 1926 to the late Atticus and Viola M Page Matthews. She was preceded in death by her husband, D. C. Vinson and sisters, Etta Mae Bullard and Clairs Matthews. She was retired from the Cumberland County Dept. of Social Services.

She is survived by two daughters, Faye Sherrill and husband, Tom of Augusta, Georgia and Connie Hall and husband, Tommy of Fayetteville; one son, Donovan Vinson and wife, Cathy of Harrells; one sister, Crystelle Smith of Roseboro; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
