Mr. Leon Eldridge Norris, 87

GARLAND

Leon Eldridge Norris, 87, of 201 N. Bladen Avenue, Garland passed from this life Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 17, at Garland Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 475 West 2nd Street, by the Reverend Jeff Hayes. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Norris was born July 30, 1930 in Garland, NC. He was the son of Ned L. Norris and Geneva H. Norris. He worked as a farmer and then entered the U. S. Army in January 1952, serving honorably during the Korean conflict. He married Judy C. Norris on June 5, 1964. He was a welder and a farmer and enjoyed spending time with his family and at his farm. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lawrence Norris, W. McCoy Norris, and Gordon Norris.

Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Judy C. Norris; daughters, Frankie Hobson and husband, Terry, Linda Peterson and husband, Greg; one son, Michael Norris and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Robbie Tanner, Gracy Peterson, Linsey Peterson, Jenny Norris, Molly Norris; great-grandchildren, Leon Tanner, Riley Tanner; sisters, Velma Bullard, Dorothy Bordeaux, Lillie Biegler, Queen Clark; and brothers, Coleman Norris, Wilbert Norris, Jarvis Norris.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:50 pm before the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
