ROSEBORO
Mr. Leo Grantham, 89, of 1321 Porter Road, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Powell and Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Grantham was a native of Sampson County, the son of the late Rufus "Ruth" Grantham and Mallie Knowles Grantham. He was an Army veteran and a farmer.
Mr. Grantham is survived by: wife, Ruth Williams Grantham, of the home; four sons, Anthony Grantham, of Battleboro, Rodney Grantham, of Clinton, Steve Grantham, of Salemburg and Ronald Lee, of Roseboro; three daughters, Tena Blair, of Roseboro, Margaret Murphy, of Cary and Debbie Jackson, of Autryville; five step-daughters, Brenda Cruse, of Jacksonville, FL, Carolyn Pope, of Roseboro; Teresa Cain and Loyce Lane, both of Garland and Joyce Long, of Clinton; two step-sons, Henry Lee, of Turkey and Luby Mack Lee, of Arlington, Ohio; brother, Grover Grantham, of Salemburg; three sisters, Annie Bert Naylor and Evelyn Jackson, both of Salemburg and Vernell English, of Westfield, Indiana; 9 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 8 step-grandsons, 5 step-granddaughters, 3 great-grandsons and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday night from 6 until 8 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
