Mrs. Lena Elma Carter, 91

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Lena Elma Carter, 91, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, June 15 at Bethesda Health Care Facility. She was a homemaker. Lena was a native of Cumberland County and lived in the area all her life. She was the daughter of the late Eppie Don McDonald and Minnie Averitt McDonald of Stedman. She was a graduate of Stedman High school. She was predeceased by her husband, Pearson Carter. Mrs. Carter is survived by a son, Manley Carter of Fayetteville; three sisters, Hetty Whaley and Betty McDuffie of Fayetteville and Elmaze Weeks of Eastover; two brothers, Morris McDonald of Hampton, Virginia and Lacy McDonald of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 17 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman with Chaplain Archie Barringer officiating.
