Mr. Lelon E. Tew, 85

CLINTON

Mr. Lelon E. Tew, 85 of 180 Southwood Drive, Clinton, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Rev. Larry McCarty officiating. Inurnment will follow at Baptist Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Tew was born on March 13, 1930 in Harnett County to the late Percy M. and Iruthia Fann Tew. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Loren Tew and Lambert "Buddy" Tew; three sisters, Estel Autry, Faydene Matthews and Judy Tew. He was a retired Farmer and Landscaper and was a member of Baptist Chapel Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Ida Grey Baxley and husband Danny, and Rebecca Beasley all of Autryville; two grandchildren, Tina Madgar and husband Prentice, and Christopher Baxley and wife Emily; and three great grandchildren, Logan Madgar, Noah Baxley and Danielle Hyde.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. Wednesday morning at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
