Lela Elizabeth (Collier) Barefoot, 79 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy, officiating will be Rev. Eddie Smith and Rev. Ivan Dickey.  Burial will follow at Wiley Autry Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 9, 2023 at Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy Family Life Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Haynes Collier and Thelma Ruth Autry Collier; husband, Everette Barefoot, Sr.; step-father, John Shipman; granddaughter, Beth Barefoot; nephew, Michael Dillon; and a brother-in-law, Carson Wrench.

She was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy, where she served in many different positions such as:  Women’s Ministry, song leader and numerous other positions.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Wanda Barefoot of Autryville; son, Everette Barefoot, Jr. & wife, Beth of Benson; granddaughter, Katelyn Sessoms of Autryville; great grandchild, Reagan Harr; siblings, Edna Dickey & husband, Ivan of Raleigh, Rita Morrison & husband, Billy of Autryville, Grady P. Collier & wife, Gail of Salemburg, Vivian Jackson & husband, Robert of Roseboro, and Lydia Wrench of Autryville; and special family friend, Sammy Faircloth of Autryville.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Lisa Waters, who was a special care giver helper, and to Tommie, Ashley, Mickey & Theresa with Gentiva Hospice for the love and care they gave to their family.
