AUTRYVILLE
Mr. Larry Patrick Daniels, 67 of 5175 Autryville Road, Autryville, died on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Greg Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at the Wiley Autry Cemetery with full military honors.
Larry was born in Sampson County to Willie and Bertie Mae Autry Daniels and he was their only child. He was married to Ruby Doris Brown Daniels and they had three children: sons, Marcus and wife Jeanna and Kelly and wife Leah; and a daughter, Amy Ammons and husband Michael. He had eight grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler, Abbey, Trevor, Jaclyn, Madelyn, John Marcus and Reed.
Larry was in the military for 26 years. After retirement from the Air Force, he taught in public schools for a time, then he served as an administrator in Cumberland and Bladen counties.
Retirement was a great time for Larry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping and riding his horses. He often said, "retirement is great!". Larry loved his family and he spent time with his children as well as his grandchildren. He made many memories that will forever be cherished.
As a young man, he led a youth choir. That was one of the highlights of his life as he took them to churches and other places to sing. He loved singing in the choir at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved his family and he loved his church family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, but he is now celebrating with his Heavenly Father. We will meet him there!
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church, 432 Hillsboro Street, Stedman, and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church, Family Life Center Fund, P.O. Box 396, Stedman, N.C. 28391.
