Mr. Kirby L. Dockery, 61

WHITE OAK, NC

Kirby L. Dockery, 61 of White Oak, lost his battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Mr. Dockery died quickly and peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.

A celebration of life will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, November 8 at Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, with Reverend Jerry Hood and Reverend John Blackman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 pm.

He was born August 16, 1954 in Bladen County hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Dockery and Thelma Edge Dockery; and one brother, William Howard Dockery.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon Dockery of the home; daughter, Heather D. Bessinger of Fayetteville; step-daughter, Laurie McKinney of Fayetteville; two step-grandsons; brothers, R. David Dockery of Montana, M. Phillip Dockery of White Oak, Daniel G. Dockery of White Oak; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundations Friends of the Cancer Center, 1638 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
