Kimberly Sisko Ward

Kimberly Sisko Ward, age 51 of Tallahassee, passed away September 3, 2022, at her home. Kim was proceeded in death by her father Richard Sisko. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Ward, mother Gloria Autry, brother Bryan Sisko, and nieces Carmen and Gloria Sisko. She also leaves behind her five fur babies, Ally, Rio, Pixie, Pumpkin, and Pluto. Born on October 16, 1970, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Kim graduated from Terry Sanford High School in 1988. In 1992 she graduated from the University of North Carolina where she received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters. She then went on to the Florida State University College of Law where she earned her Juries Doctorate in 1995. Kim faithfully served the public in many ways during her carrier starting as an Assistant Public Defender with the First Judaical Circuit of Florida 1995-1998. Criminal Defense Attorney, Shalimar, Florida 1998-2002. Senior Attorney, Department of Juvenile Justice, Tallahassee, 2002-2004, Bureau Chief, Department of Juvenile Justice, Tallahassee, Florida 2004-2007, Deputy General Counsel, Agency for Workforce Innovation, Tallahassee, 2007-2008. Senior Attorney, Department of Juvenile Justice, Tallahassee, 2008-2016. Executive Senior Attorney, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Tallahassee, 2016-2020. Chief of Personnel Services, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Tallahassee, 2020 to the present. She was a member of the Florida Bar, Chaires-Capitola Volunteer Fire Department from 2017 to 2021 and member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. She was a Certified Zumba Instructor and loved teaching Zumba and getting people to shake their booty. Her other favorite things to do were day trips to the beach, hiking, biking, butterfly watching, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She was a great artist that loved to draw and paint. Viewing and service will be held Saturday, September 10th, 2022, at the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church, 1645 Phillips Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32308 starting with the viewing at 9:30am. Funeral service with begin at 10:30am. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022, at the T.J. Hall Family Cemetery, 170 South River Road, Autryville, North Carolina. Flowers are welcome for the viewing and service, they can be sent to Beggs Funeral Home, 3322 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida, 32311. If you wish to send flowers for the burial flowers can be sent to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, North Carolina.
