Stedman:
Kay Strickland Marsh, 64, of Stedman passed away Monday, March 9, 2009. She was born September 5, 1944.
She was a lifelong member of Stedman Baptist Church where she was very active and loved serving in various capacities; especially working with the children's crafts in Vacation Bible School. She was very active in the Jaycettes and was involved with many other community events. She ran and operated her own flower shop called Kay's Flowers and Gifts. Her past-times included playing bridge, going to the beach and creative painting. Spending special time with her grandchildren, as well as many other children, was her greatest enjoyment.
Mrs. Marsh retired after several years of service with both the Cumberland County Clerk of Courts office and the Cumberland County School System as a teacher's assistant.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Marsh of Stedman; a daughter Sharon Rich and her husband Keith of Fayetteville; a son Billy Marsh and his wife Kelly of Stedman; a daughter Leslie Satterfield and her husband Lei; a son Jeremy Marsh and his wife Lauren of Seven Lakes and grandchildren Brandon and Kristin Hobbs of Fayetteville; Taylor and Will Marsh of Stedman; Colby and Camden Satterfield of Knightdale; Sisters, Joanne Blake and Jean Knox of Fort Mill, SC; Deborah Bunce and her husband Maxton of Stedman; Kim Weathington and her husband Scott of Beaver Dam; and two brothers, Jimmy Strickland and his wife Sara of Charleston, SC, Craig Strickland and his wife Huntsie of Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Helen Strickland of Stedman.
The family will receive friends at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman, NC from 6 to 8pm Tuesday, March 10, 2009 and will welcome friends at 314 Wade-Stedman Road at other times.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at Stedman Baptist Church with Dr. Philip Spears officiating. Burial will be at Fisher Cemetery.
