Mrs. Kathleen Strickland Knight, 88

WADE Mrs. Kathleen Strickland Knight, 88 of Goldsboro Road, Wade passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at her home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Jeff Burkhardt and Rev. Mark Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Knight, one of eleven children, was born July 5, 1922 the daughter of the late James Purdie and Mittie Horne Strickland of Cumberland County. She was married to the late Rev. Johnny Knight and was a life time member of Bethany Church of God of Prophecy. She lived a life of service to God through her music. For over 50 years she played the piano and organ in church. She is survived by six sons, Jerry Knight and wife, Willa of Stedman, Bobby Knight and wife, Donna and Randy Knight and wife, Joyce both of Eastover, Donnie Knight and wife, Janice of Fayetteville, Eddie Knight and wife Barbara of Tar Heel and Ronald Knight and wife, Linda of Mocksville; three daughters, Betty Winstead and husband, Ron of Zebulon, Linda Sue Flowers and husband, Jamie and Carol Knight both of Warsaw; one sister, Jackie McCall of Fayetteville; two brothers, Joe Strickland of Eastover and Cordell Strickland of Stedman; 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday evening, March 11, 2011 at Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC.
