Mrs. Karen A. Johnson, 62

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Karen Averitte Johnson, 62 of 4609 Hummingbird Place, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Judson Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born in 1947 in Cumberland County to the late Lynn and Jewell Hayes Averitte. She worked as a Sales Director in the Hotel Industry. Mrs. Johnson is survived by: one daughter, Meredith Southern and husband Dennis, of Fayetteville; one sister, Kathy Culbreth of Fayetteville; one brother, Kelly Averitte of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren, William Southern and Trevor Southern. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, in Stedman. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.
