Mr. Junius Mebane Andrews, Jr., 70, of Ash, passed away April 9, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Reverend Tim Register officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Roseboro Cemetery.
He was born November 10, 1945 in Sampson County to the late Junius Mebane and Eleanor Watson Andrews.
He had a BS degree in Architecture from North Carolina State University. Junie was an avid Wolfpacker. He was owner and operator of his own Architecture Company. He was a founding member of the North Carolina State Rugby Club Hall of Fame. He played competitive, national and international rugby leading his team to victories in Australia and England.
He is survived by sisters, Carol Andrews Southerland and husband Ike of Morehead City, Judy Andrews Montague and husband Joe of Fuquay-Varina, and Betty Andrews Robinson and husband Mike of Rocky Mount; beloved cousins, Rebecca Eatman Jackson, Pam Watson Livesay, and Mary Andrews Nahm; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Tashie, Stephie and Tobby, who were "his babies".
