CLINTON
Mrs. Josephine Thornton, 66 of 1827 Rabbit Street, died Thursday June 22, 2006 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday June 25, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at Piney Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Armstrong and Rev. Donald Keith Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Thornton was a native of Sampson County and the daughter of the late Clayton and Loleta Fann Strickland. She was a Supervisor with the Sewing Factory.
Mrs. Thornton is survived by: her husband, Dale Thornton of the home; two daughters, Debbie Stallings and Cynthia Wood, both of Clinton; one son, Dean Porter of Clinton; seven sisters, Elizabeth Autry and Gray Pope both of Clinton, Margaret Fann of Roseboro, Carolyn Reynolds of Garner, Barbara Butler of Clinton, Brenda Wainright of Roseboro, and Ann Tyndall of Clinton; three brothers, Charles Strickland, Harold Strickland, and Glenn Strickland, all of Clinton; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, and other times at the home, and the home of Jackie and Ann Tyndall, 1795 Rabbit Street, Clinton.
