Mr. Johnny Roger Tanner, 63

Salemburg Mr. Johnny Roger Tanner, 63, of 118 College Street, died on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Rev. Wayne Thomas officiating. Mr. Tanner was born in 1948 in Sampson County to the late James and Lillian Crowson Tanner. He was a graduate of Roseboro-Salemburg High School, was a Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1965-1968 and was a parts manager with Car Quest Auto Parts. Mr. Tanner is survived by: daughter, Shannon Smith and husband Spencer, of Hendersonville, NC; two grandchildren, Hunter and Mason Drake; four sisters, Shirley Childress, of Clinton, Ann McLeod and Peggy Tanner, both of Sanford and Elaine Larson, of Salemburg; five brothers, Jimmy Tanner, Ricky Tanner and Billy Tanner, all of Salemburg, Tommy Tanner, of Autryville and Jerry Tanner, of Glenville, NC. The family would like to thank Community Hospice for their services during this very difficult time.
