Mr. Johnny R. Benton, 56

SALEMBURG Mr. Johnny Reese Benton, 56 of 512 Laurel Lake Road, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at his home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Steve Porter officiating. Burial will follow at the Salemburg Cemetery. Mr. Benton was born in 1952 in Catonsville, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his father, John Cleveland Benton. He worked in the Construction Industry. Mr. Benton is survived by: wife, Phyllis Benton; two sons, L.J. Benton and Joey; his mother, Charlotte Herring of Salemburg; one sister, Sandy Herring of Wilmington; and grandmother, Clara Baldwin of Clinton. Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro.
