AUTRYVILLE Mrs. Johnnie Lee Blackwell Umphlet, 68, of Autryville died Sunday, November 27 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. She was a Cosmetologist. She was born in Gaston County, NC, the daughter of the late Melvin Blackwell and Ila Hamilton Blackwell. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Dr. Odell Peterson and Dr. Jack Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Mrs. Umphlet is survived by: her husband, Henry Hardy Umphlet of the home; two sons, Michael Hardy Umphlet of Autryville and Jeffrey Neal Umphlet (wife Joann) of Autryville; three sisters, Neena Saunders (husband Gene) of Prosperity, SC, Kathy Crawford (husband Roxy) of Saluda, SC and Joan Pennington (husband Henry) also of Saluda, SC; three grandchildren, Timmy, Nicole and Jefferson; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Skylar. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
