Mr. John Davis Strickland,, 87 Jr.

Mr. John Davis Strickland, Jr., 87, of 1108 Crumpler Mill Road, Salemburg, passed away Monday, July 3, 2006 at Sampson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Zoar Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Tatum and Rev. Frank Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Strickland was a native of Sampson County, the son of the late John Davis Strickland, Sr. and Sudie Royal Strickland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Dell Holland Strickland. Mr. Strickland is survived by: two daughters, Faye Tew, of Autryville and Margaret Butler, of Salemburg; sister, Reva Johnson, of Sanford; brother, Craven Strickland, of Fayetteville; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will recieve friends Wednesday night from 7 till 9 PM at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro.
