Mr. John L. Besaw, 64

ROSEBORO Mr. John Lawrence Besaw, 64 of 607 N. Pine Street, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Fernando Torres officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Mr. Besaw was born in 1944 in Norfolk, New York to the late Andrew Matthew and Mary Elda Newvine Besaw. He was a 4th Degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus, a Roseboro Town Commissioner, and was instrumental in forming the Roseboro Community Watch. He worked as a Tool and Dye Worker with General Motors. Mr. Besaw is survived by: his wife, Bihong Zhou Besaw of the home; one daughter, Heather Jordan of New York; three sons, John L. Besaw of Illinois, Shawn Besaw of Texas, and Jiang Lu of Roseboro; two sisters, Margaret Mello and Rosemary Hunter, both of Roseboro; two brothers, Robert Besaw and Michael Besaw, both of Roseboro; and seven grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro.
